With over two decades of experience in diplomacy, fundraising, and arts education, Andrea has dedicated her career to building community through creativity, civic engagement, and public service.
Andrea’s commitment to We the People of Delco shines through her work empowering diverse communities and creating meaningful, inclusive programming that celebrates 250 years of local history and looks ahead to the next generation.
Danielle McNichol, Esq., Vice Chair

Danielle McNichol, Esq. is a seasoned legal professional, an entrepreneur, and dedicated public servant. McNichol's diverse career includes public sector leadership under four Pennsylvania Governors and positions with Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia Soccer 2026, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Temple University Health System, Delaware River Port Authority, Neumann University, and the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia. Her deep commitment to community and leadership has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Papal Benemerenti Medal from Pope Francis, the Good Citizenship Award, and commendations from both Delaware County Council and the U.S. Secret Service.

Tom Killion, a dedicated public servant and proud advocate for Delaware County, brings decades of government and community leadership to the Delco A250 Commission. He served one term in the Pennsylvania State Senate and thirteen years in the House of Representatives, where he chaired the Senate Community, Economic & Recreational Development Committee and served on several key committees. A former Chairman of Delaware County Council, Tom’s impact extends beyond public office—he’s served over twenty nonprofits and community organizations and has been widely recognized for his unwavering commitment to the people of Pennsylvania.
Paul J. Hewes Jr., Secretary
Delaware County Historical Society, Media
Paul Hewes, a historian with a deep passion for local heritage, brings fresh perspective and academic dedication to the Delco A250 Commission. Paul holds a master’s degree in History from Temple University and has also been published in the Society of American Archivists Archival Outlook journal. He’s focused on uncovering and preserving the rich stories of Delaware County and Philadelphia.
As Director of the Delaware County Historical Society, he is already helping to shape how the region remembers and celebrates its past. Under his leadership, DCHS works to protect and promote Delco history, and to make it accessible to all by providing resources in local history free to the public. Paul’s vision for the future—both as an educator and historical leader—honors the legacy of We the People of Delco and inspires a new generation to connect with our shared history.
Oliver Bass
Natural Lands, Springfield
Oliver Bass, a passionate conservationist and community leader, brings over two decades of dedication to land preservation and equity to the Delco A250 Commission. As President and CEO of Natural Lands, Oliver has championed initiatives to expand green space access, elevate public engagement, and promote environmental stewardship across the region.
Under his leadership, Natural Lands has deepened its commitment to ensuring the benefits of nature are shared by all. Oliver’s roots in public radio and the arts, combined with his drive to connect people to the outdoors, reflect the spirit and mission of We the People of Delco.
Robert W. Bogle
The Philadelphia Tribune, Yeadon
Robert W. Bogle is Chairman, President and CEO of The Philadelphia Tribune, the nation’s oldest and the Greater Philadelphia region’s largest audited newspaper serving the African-American community and long-time resident of Yeadon. Active in many professional, civic and social organizations, Mr. Bogle is chairman of Trustees at Cheyney University, serves on the boards of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, the African-American Chamber of Commerce, and Visit Philadelphia. Mr. Bogle remains committed to his role as an ambassador for Philadelphia as the birthplace of America and champion of the right to free speech and the press.
Ambassador Kenneth J. Braithwaite

The Honorable Kenneth J. Braithwaite, a proud veteran and former Secretary of the Navy, brings a legacy of leadership, service, and commitment to the Delco A250 Commission. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate, Secretary Braithwaite flew anti-submarine missions in the Pacific before transitioning into a distinguished public affairs career, ultimately becoming a Rear Admiral and serving as the Navy’s first Vice Chief of Information.
With decades of service in both the public and private sectors—including as U.S. Ambassador to Norway and senior executive roles in healthcare—Secretary Braithwaite's deep roots in national service reflect his dedication to Delaware County, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and its future.
His leadership honors the spirit of We the People of Delco, ensuring our celebration of America’s 250th is one of pride, unity, and vision.
Ralph J. Cicalese
WSFS Bank, Swarthmore
Ralph Cicalese, a lifelong Delco resident and seasoned banking professional, brings decades of community leadership and financial expertise to the Delco A250 Commission. A graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and Widener University, Ralph now serves as Senior Vice President Team Leader of PA Business Banking at WSFS Bank. His extensive service on local boards—from the YMCA to economic development councils—reflects his deep commitment to Delco’s growth and well-being. Whether supporting youth athletics or advancing regional commerce, Ralph’s dedication to We the People of Delco is rooted in service, stewardship, and pride in his hometown.
Dr. Maria Edelberg
Delaware County Intermediate Unit, Havertown
Maria Edelberg, a dedicated advocate for education and community, brings her passion for learning and leadership to the Delco A250 Commission. As Executive Director of the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, she oversees critical services and support for schools across the region, helping to shape the educational landscape of Delaware County.
From policy development to staff leadership, Maria’s role ensures that innovation, equity, and excellence remain at the forefront of local education. Her work embodies the spirit of We the People of Delco—committed, forward-thinking, and rooted in the power of knowledge.
Laura Goodrich Cairns
Delaware County Commerce Center, Aston
Laura Goodrich Cairns, a lifelong advocate for community growth, brings unmatched expertise in economic development to the Delco A250 Commission. As Executive Director of multiple key authorities—including the Commerce Center and Redevelopment Authority—Laura plays a vital role in shaping Delaware County’s future.
Her dedication extends across the region through leadership roles on the Delaware County Workforce Development Board, Riverfront Alliance, and as President of the Pennsylvania Economic Development Association. Laura’s commitment to We the People of Delco is rooted in her passion for progress and her deep ties to the community she calls home in Aston.
Elleanor Jean Hendley
Education Consultant, Havertown, PA
Elleanor Jean Hendley is an Emmy Award-winning former CBS 3 Eyewitness News education reporter and a pioneer in broadcast journalism as the only woman of color to produce and host a primetime weekend magazine show, City Lights, which aired for a decade.
She is the founder and CEO of Teenshop, Inc., a nonprofit college preparatory and life skills program for girls with 100% college acceptance and chapters across PA, NJ, and CA. Elleanor also leads Girls Achieve® School Day through her educational consulting firm, Elleanor Jean Hendley LLC.
Her contributions have earned honors like the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Woman of Distinction, Take the Lead Award from Girl Scouts of Eastern PA, and serving as Commissioner on the Delaware County Women's Commission. With a commitment to community engagement and empowering others, Elleanor’s leadership embodies the spirit of Delaware County—uplifting and preserving its legacy for future generations.
Jannie K. Lau, Esq.
Retired technology executive, Villanova
Jannie K. Lau, Radnor resident, retired technology executive, and accomplished lawyer, dreamed about becoming an American when she was a Hong Kong expatriate attending an international school in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Educated by American expatriate teachers, Jannie fell in love with the American way of life and commitment to civil liberties and self-government. She eventually moved to the United States by herself at the age of 15 to attend boarding school, then college and law school, and finally realized her childhood dream of becoming a U.S. citizen in 2010. Throughout her distinguished career in the private sector, longstanding engagement in politics, and current service on the Radnor Township School Board, Jannie has championed diversity, good governance, and public service. Jannie’s commitment to We the People of Delco shines through her advocacy for civic engagement—ensuring a vibrant and inclusive future for Delaware County and beyond.
Robert MacPherson
Visit Delco, Media
As EVP/CMO for Visit Delco, Rob works with a team of professionals to grow visitation and tourism in Delaware County. Prior to Visit Delco, Rob worked in corporate marketing for 26-years with our beloved Philadelphia Phillies, and as an adjunct professor of marketing at Widener University. In addition, Rob serves on the board at Hedgerow Theatre. Rob lives in Wallingford with his wife Kim Shimer. They have two children, Ian (26) and Abby (24), and two adopted dogs, Lilly and Holston. Rob is ready to welcome the world to enjoy Delco’s heritage tourism sites!
Kevin Madden
Delaware County Council, Haverford
A third-generation Delaware County resident, Kevin Madden was born and raised in Media before pursuing a career as a successful business builder and investor across a wide range of industries. Kevin is co-founder and Managing Partner of Saothair Capital Partners, an investment firm focused on acquiring and revitalizing industrial and manufacturing companies. Since 2018, Kevin has served as a Delaware County Council member. His public service has included board service to the Delaware County Jail Oversight Board, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, Delaware County Historical Society, and Media Theatre for the Performing Arts. Kevin has volunteered for the Sierra Club and BARC Animal Shelter, and currently resides in Haverford.
Kevin’s commitment to We the People of Delco is reflected in his leadership in business revitalization, community development, and public service—working to build a strong, sustainable, and inclusive future for Delaware County and beyond.
Theresa Napson-Williams, Ph.D.
Professor of History, Media
With 25 years of teaching experience and a Ph.D. in American History, Dr. Napson-Williams has a deep commitment to education and sharing the stories of all Americans. Elected as president of Rose Tree Media School Board, Theresa has been a Media resident for over 20 years and volunteered with Media Little League, the Delaware County’s Women’s Commission, and many more local projects. A dedicated, proven leader, Dr. Napson-Williams is ready to foster civic awareness and historical understanding with Delco residents by sharing American history.
Christine A. Reuther
Delaware County Council, Wallingford
Christine A. Reuther’s deep love of American history was born out of a childhood at the Haverford Historical Society. Born and raised in Havertown, Ruether is a graduate of Haverford High School and holds degrees in government from Harvard University and University of California at Berkeley Law School. A long-time resident of Wallingford, Christine brings three decades of legal expertise and service to local government in Nether Providence Township and Delaware County Council. She serves on the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission and Central Delaware County Authority, and formerly on the boards of Child Guidance Resource Centers, Community Arts Center and more. Her commitment to "We the People of Delco" shines through her work with non-profits and local government, ensuring the future of Delco remains strong and vibrant.
Tony Shahan
Newlin Grist Mill, Glen Mills
Tony Shahan, a passionate steward of history and culture, brings a lifetime of dedication to historic preservation to the Delco A250 Commission. After earning his master’s degree in history and a certificate in museum studies from the University of Delaware, Tony began his career at Greenbank Mill before moving on to lead the Newlin Grist Mill, now celebrating its 50th anniversary.
With a commitment to hands-on learning and community engagement, Tony’s leadership ensures that the stories of our shared past remain alive and accessible. His work reflects the heart of We the People of Delco—preserving our heritage for generations to come.
Dave White
DWD Mechanical Contractors, Morton
Dave White, a life-long Delaware County resident, brings to the Commission a deep commitment to community and public service. Born in Springfield, Dave is an alum of Cardinal O’Hara High School,and attended Delaware County Vocational Technical School and Penn State to become a third-generation union pipefitter. He founded and serves as President and CEO of DWD Mechanical Contractor Inc., a full-service mechanical construction company, headquartered in Morton. His public service includes roles as Delaware County Council member and 18-year member of Ridley Township Board of Commissioners. Dave is an advocate for the special needs community and has supported many community organizations, including Kedron Youth Association, Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association, and more. Dave’s commitment to We the People of Delco shines through his leadership in the trades, active political life, and community commitment remain central to Delaware County’s future.
The work of the Commission is to coordinate with Delaware County Commerce Center, Visit Delco, America250PADelco Committees, and major partners to facilitate the raising of funds to support commemoration efforts, to designate and oversee official America250 projects in Delaware County, and to monitor and oversee the work of the America250PADelco Director.
