Delco residents now have the opportunity to visit not one, not two, but three commemorative bells celebrating America's 250th anniversary.
The newest bell was unveiled on April 16 in Folsom, the location of Wawa's first store. April 16 is known as Wawa day, when the company celebrates its customers, associates, and community partners.
Wawa is a sponsor of America250PADelco's DelcoVolunteers program, and we worked to bring Wawa together with local artist Paul Downie from the Community Arts Center in Wallingford to design and paint the bell.

The America250PA Bells Across Pennsylvania initiative celebrates the United States' 250th Anniversary by placing unique, artist-designed replicas of the Liberty Bell in all 67 counties of Pennsylvania.
America250PA unveiled the first custom-designed bell on October 20. Designed by West Chester artist Josh Ruggeri, the bell is sponsored by Burns Family Markets and is on display at ShopRite of Drexeline.

The second bell was unveiled at Rose Tree Park on December 4th. It was designed by artist Tucker Rodkey and students from Legacy Arts Chester, and it was sponsored by Visit Delco. The unveiling coincided with the start of Rose Tree's Festival of Lights.

The Wawa History Bell will be on display at the Folsom store through June. After that, it will be relocated to Philadelphia as part of the Wawa Welcome America! celebration.
About Bells Across PA
Inspired by Pennsylvania’s role in the nation’s founding—and home to the iconic Liberty Bell—these oversized fiberglass bells have been reimagined by artists from across the Commonwealth, with support from local businesses and community partners. The result is a bold, statewide collection that reflects the creativity and character of the places they call home. Bells Across PA consists of more than 120 bells that form an art trail stretching across every county in Pennsylvania—an open invitation to take the scenic route and see where curiosity leads. The majority of bells in the program are already on display, but thanks to the enthusiastic response to the program, a final additional set of bells were ordered and are being completed in the first half of 2026 to include more Pennsylvania communities in the celebration.
