The Amazing Race to Brandywine is an untimed event designed for safety and enjoyment, inviting families and friends to explore the landscapes and crossroads connected to the 1777 Battle of Brandywine. Participants will travel to key historic sites, where volunteers and costumed interpreters share Revolutionary War–themed stories and experiences that highlight the region’s role in America’s War for Independence.
Gear up for America’s 250th! Explore the Brandywine Battlefield with family and friends in an untimed road rally. PLEASE NOTE: One ticket is good for one car. There is no need to buy individual tickets for each passenger. The Amazing Race to Brandywine is a road rally designed to allow visitors to learn about the region’s history as they traverse the 10-square-mile area that encompasses the designated Brandywine Battlefield National Historic Landmark area. This event provides an enjoyable and unique opportunity for participants to celebrate the 250th anniversary of our Nation’s Independence while learning about the Brandywine community of 1777 and the significance of the Battle of the Brandywine within the narrative of America’s War for Independence. The road rally begins and ends at the Brandywine Battlefield Park, welcomes all participants, and introduces new visitors to the Park. Participants pre-register and receive their specified start time. This will not be a timed event in the interest of safety. Each participating vehicle must have a driver and a navigator, with additional passengers permitted, allowing families and friends the opportunity to share the experience. Participants will embark on a scenic, self-guided journey through key locations connected to the 1777 Battle of Brandywine. Along the route, each stop offers Revolutionary War–themed experiences that explore the region’s role in the conflict. Volunteers and costumed interpreters greet visitors at each stop. From preserved landscapes to historic crossroads, each site reveals a different chapter in the Brandywine story. This fun, engaging road rally connects people of all ages to our shared American history in anticipation of our 250th anniversary.
