Delaware County Council has officially welcomed Andrea Silva as the new Director of America250PADelco, the department leading Delco’s efforts to commemorate America’s 250th birthday in 2026. Her unanimous appointment kicks off a new chapter in planning for this historic milestone.
In her role, Silva will work closely with local governments, nonprofits, and community members to coordinate events and programs that celebrate 250 years of American history—Delco style. The goal? To honor the past, highlight diverse local stories, and foster civic pride across the county.
“I’m excited to engage all members of the Delco community in this county-wide celebration,” Silva shared. “This is our chance to reflect, celebrate, and come together to shape a stronger future.”
A seasoned nonprofit and civic leader, Silva brings more than 20 years of experience in diplomacy, fundraising, arts education, and public engagement. She previously served as Interim President & CEO of Citizen Diplomacy International of Philadelphia, where she oversaw global exchange programs and the city’s Sister Cities initiatives.
Councilmember Christine Reuther praised Silva’s background and vision: “She brings the perfect mix of expertise, and we’re thrilled to have her leading this once-in-a-generation celebration for Delaware County.”
A Wallingford resident and proud Delco neighbor, Silva is just as comfortable digging into a community project as she is digging in her garden with her husband, two kids, and rescue pup.
