On August 15, 2023, Delaware County officially launched the America250PADelco Commission—another key step in preparing for the nation’s 250th birthday celebration in 2026.The Commission, appointed by the County Council, will work alongside the America250PADelco Committee to help raise funds and build partnerships that support county-wide commemoration efforts. Together, they’ll ensure that Delaware County is ready to honor the past, celebrate the present, and invest in the future.The new Commission includes representatives from County Council, Visit Delco, the America250PADelco Committee, and up to sixteen community leaders. These members bring a wide range of backgrounds and experience in areas like tourism, education, historic preservation, business, government, philanthropy, labor, and more—including representation of Tribal affairs.With strong community involvement and diverse voices at the table, the Commission is ready to help make 2026 a celebration that reflects all of Delco.
