Three hundred and forty years ago, William Penn made a promise that shaped a Commonwealth. On October 14, 2026, we plant a tree to keep it. Join us at Rose Tree Park for the Delaware County Penn's Peace Tree Planting Ceremony, part of a statewide initiative to honor William Penn's birthday by planting Pennsylvania's state tree, the white pine, in each of the Commonwealth's 67 counties. This is more than a tree planting. It's a living commemoration of the values that founded Pennsylvania: liberty of conscience, peaceful governance, and just relations among all people. A commemorative plaque will mark the site for generations to come. We invite local leaders, families, and neighbors to gather at noon for this brief, meaningful ceremony, one that connects Delco to 250 years of shared history and reminds us that Penn's vision of peace is still worth honoring today. Rain date to be announced if needed.
