As autumn draws to a close, join Colonial Farmstead for Martinmas, a traditional early winter observance once known as “Old Halloween” and celebration marking the turning of the agricultural year. Observed across early modern Europe and remembered in colonial Pennsylvania, Martinmas (the Feast of St. Martin) was a time farm families readied their homes and hearths for winter. Storytime 1 PM and 3 PM: Sleep Tight Farm, A Farm Prepares for Winter. Join us for a lantern walk at 5:15 PM to mark the turning of the year from light to dark. Last admission at 4 PM.
