Join us for a day of history, community, and celebration as we mark Delaware County's 236th birthday and the 130th anniversary of the Delaware County Historical Society (DCHS)! This special day of events, presented by America250PADelco and the Delaware County Historical Society, brings together Delco's rich past and its promising future.
Step back in time at the Delaware County Historical Society. Explore rare and unique items on display, including deeds from figures such as William Penn, John Morton and items highlighting the history of the Crozer Family and the Crozer Medical Center. This portion of the event is free and open to the public. This is a unique opportunity to connect with Delco's rich past.
Gather with us on the Courthouse steps for special remarks and a festive cake-cutting ceremony.
We'll commemorate the installation of the America250PADelco banners, featuring the themes of "Life, Liberty & Pursuit of Happiness," accompanied by a special rendition of "Happy Birthday." In honor of America's upcoming 250th birthday, we'll also be launching Delco Volunteers 250, an exciting new initiative that invites you to give a gift of service to our community.

We are seeking local bars and restaurants to host a "Cheers for Delco's Birthday" from 5-7 pm. In the spirit of giving back, we ask that 25% of proceeds from these locations be donated to DCHS and Delco's America250 celebrations.
All proceeds from this event will be shared by the DCHS and America250PADelco to fund educational programs in 2026 as part of our nation's 250th birthday celebration.
This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our county's heritage, connect with neighbors, and learn how you can contribute to Delco's future. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
How to be a Participating Restaurant
We are inviting a select group of 10-16 of Delco's finest establishments to host a "Cheers to Delco's Birthday Happy Hour" in this inaugural year. We would love for you to be one of them.
Here’s how it works:
We will match your restaurant with an America250PADelco representative or a member from a local historical society. They will host friends and community members at your location on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM for a special happy hour.
In the spirit of giving back, we ask each participating restaurant to contribute up to 25% (or more) of the happy hour proceeds to support programming for America’s 250th Birthday in 2026. This funding will help provide free educational programs and events for the public and school children, offered by the Delaware County Historical Society and America250PADelco and its Community Program Partners.

For Individuals and Families, Host a "Cheers to Delco's Birthday" Happy Hour at Your House!
You don't have to be at a restaurant to celebrate! You're invited to raise a glass to Delco's birthday by hosting a "Cheers to Delco" happy hour right in your own home. Host a small gathering with friends and neighbors. During the party, you can "pass the hat" or share the 'Text to Give link' to collect donations. All funds raised will directly support free Delco America’s 250th programming for the public and school children in Delaware County, ensuring future generations can learn about our shared history.

For Educators
We invite you and your students to participate in our inaugural Delco Birthday Cheers Celebration with a classroom fundraiser.
Here's how you can participate:
Host a "Cheers to Delco" Cupcake/Cake Party: Bake or purchase a birthday cake or cupcakes to share with your students.
Encourage Small Donations: Students can choose to contribute $0.25, $1, or $2.50 in honor of America's 250th birthday to receive a piece of cake. This is completely optional.
Make it a Celebration: Lead your class in singing "Happy Birthday to Delco!" to make the event even more festive.
Ask students, your class or your school to create a birthday card for the Delaware County Historical Society, and mail it to at 9 W. Front St., Media, PA 19063.
