Delaware County is proud to host the 4th Annual Delaware County MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 19, 2026, in celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This event is hosted by Delaware County in partnership with Widener University, Philadelphia Union, City of Chester, Cultural Arts and Technology Center, Making a Change, Delaware County Heritage Commission, MLK Commemorative Committee of Chester and Vicinity, and America250PADelco.


This year’s event is purposefully built upon the powerful 2026 theme, “Reclaiming the Dream - Truth, Justice, and Community,” directly honoring Dr. King’s enduring principles of equality and compassion. The Day of Service will feature a variety of events designed to inspire and engage the community, emphasizing well-being, volunteerism, and unity. These activities are designed to fulfill Dr. King's legacy by actively addressing current social issues, fostering inclusivity, and promoting a culture of peace and understanding. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogues with community members and elected leaders, contribute to vital community improvement efforts, and reinforce the ongoing relevance of Dr. King's vision in today’s world.

All County residents are invited to join the local day of service and commemoration to a historic and inspiring legend and the opportunity to actively shape the landscape of the community in the spirit of Dr. King. All activities aim to foster unity, sense of purpose, and shared responsibility among residents.

Residents are invited to register for the Peace March on Delco Volunteers .Registration is not required but highly encouraged to help organizers and volunteers appropriately prepare. When registering, please select the events you plan to attend.


Parking: Guests are encouraged to park in the Chester City Hall Parking Lot on the north side of the building at 1 E 4th St, Chester, PA 19013, or at the Latham Parking Lot at Widener University, 1301 Potter Sts. Chester, PA 19103.
